Abstract
Objective: This study systematically analyzed the effect of intervention for Snoezelen (multisensory environment) targeting adults with a neuro-developmental disorder.

Methods: All studies published as of December 2021 were collected from the EBSCOhost, Embase, PubMED, KISS, and RISS databases. The 13 finally selected studies were systematically reviewed to present the demographic characteristics of the subjects, the form used to provide Snoezelen intervention, the dependent variables and assessment tools, and the results of the intervention.

Results: Among the finally selected studies, none were extracted from the Korean database. The average age of the subjects who participated in the study was 35.8 years. The most common characteristics of the subjects who participated in the study were those with intellectual disabilities. Most of the studies observed dependent variables related to the subject's challenge behavior and mainly reported their effects using behavioral observation methods. A total of 10 (76.2%) studies reported positive effects from a Snoezelen intervention. The average time of providing such intervention was approximately 30 min, with at least 6 sessions.

Conclusion: This study confirmed that a Snoezelen intervention is an appropriate intervention method having a positive effect on adults with a neurodevelopmental disorder. Therefore, it is believed that this study can be used as a basis for clinical information for adults with such a disorder in the future or as basic data in related fields.
